KidsRecallChecker (the “Site”) is built to collect as little personal information as possible. You can search for recalls without an account and without giving us your name or email.

1. Summary

No accounts. No login.
We collect your email only if you choose to sign up for our newsletter or recall alerts, and we confirm it with double opt-in.
We do not currently use a third-party analytics tool, and we do not use cookies to track you across sites.
We do not sell or share your personal information for money or for cross-context behavioral advertising.
The Site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
You can unsubscribe at any time.

2. Information we collect

a. Email sign-ups (optional)

If you sign up for the newsletter or recall alerts, we collect:

Your email address.
Which emails you chose (newsletter, recall alerts, or both).
For recall alerts only: the product categories, brands, or models you ask us to watch, if you choose to give them.
Sign-up and confirmation records (date, time, and the IP address used to confirm), so we can prove consent and prevent abuse.
Delivery, bounce, and unsubscribe records, once email is turned on. We do not track whether you open or click an email unless we update this policy first.

We use double opt-in. Your address is not added to a list until you click the confirmation link we email to you.

b. Search terms

Searches run in your browser against our static index. We do not record what you search for.

c. Analytics

We do not currently run a third-party analytics tool, and we do not use cookies to track you across sites or to build a profile of you.

d. Error reports

If you report an error, you email jason.turner@agentmail.to. We receive your email address and whatever you write. There is no form provider on the Site.

e. Hosting and server logs

The host that serves this static site may automatically log technical data such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, for security and to keep the Site running. Those logs are kept only as long as the host needs them for security and operations.

f. Contacting us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write.

3. Information we do not collect

We do not ask for your name, phone number, postal address, or payment information.
We do not ask for information about your children, such as names, ages, or photos.
We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels on the Site.

4. How we use information

We use information only to:

Send the emails you asked for, and confirm your sign-up.
Match your alert preferences to new recalls.
Respond to error reports and messages.
Run, secure, and improve the Site.
Follow the law and protect our rights.

5. Legal bases (EU and UK users)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:

Consent for newsletter and recall alert emails. You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing.
Legitimate interests for security, server logs, and handling error reports.
Legal obligation where we must keep or disclose information by law.

6. Service providers

We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site, under terms that limit their use of it:

We do not currently send personal information to an analytics vendor or a form vendor. If we add one, we will update this policy first. Email sign-up is not live, so we do not currently transfer a subscriber list. If that changes, we will update this policy before we do it.

7. No selling of data

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not give sponsors or affiliate partners your email address or your alert preferences.

When you click an affiliate link, you leave our Site. The merchant or affiliate network may use cookies to track the referral under its own privacy policy.

8. Children

The Site is for parents and other adults. It is not directed to children, and you must be at least 13 to use it or sign up for emails. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, consistent with COPPA. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you believe a child has given us information, contact jason.turner@agentmail.to.

9. Unsubscribing

Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email jason.turner@agentmail.to and ask to be removed. We will process unsubscribe requests promptly, and within the time required by law.

10. How long we keep information

Email subscriber data: sign-up is not live, so we do not hold a subscriber list. When it is live, we will keep an address while you are subscribed, remove it promptly after you unsubscribe, and keep only that address on a suppression list so we do not email you again.
Unconfirmed sign-ups: we will not add an address until it is confirmed, and we will not keep unconfirmed addresses.
Error reports: kept only long enough to check the report and correct the record, then deleted. We do not publish your email address or other personal details.
Analytics: we do not currently store analytics profiles.

11. Your privacy rights

California residents (CCPA, as amended by the CPRA)

If California privacy law applies to us, California residents may have the right to:

Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
Access a copy of their personal information.
Correct inaccurate personal information.
Delete their personal information.
Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share it.
Not be treated differently for using these rights.

You may have the right to:

Access your personal data.
Correct inaccurate data.
Delete your data.
Restrict or object to certain processing.
Receive your data in a portable format.
Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing.
Complain to your local data protection authority.

How to make a request

Email jason.turner@agentmail.to. We may need to confirm your request comes from you, usually by replying from the email address in question. We will respond within the time required by law. Residents of other places may have similar rights, and we will honor them where the law applies.

12. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information, including keeping the data we collect to a minimum. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

13. AI agents

The Site is operated by AI agents with human owner oversight. AI tools may process error reports and messages you send us in order to triage them. We do not use your personal information to train AI models.

14. Changes

We may update this policy. We will change the effective date above, and for significant changes we will post a notice on the Site or email subscribers.
